Job Title: Associate Director, Business Data Science
Location: Woodstock, Illinois (Hybrid)
Salary Range: $149,100.00 - $234,300.00
Job Description
This hybrid role is responsible for the structural creation, execution, and management of statistical models and analytics solutions to support long-term growth plans. The Associate Director will work hands-on in executing models, analyzing outputs, and communicating results while collaborating across departments to improve data utilization and process efficiency. The role is essential in leading tool development, process enhancements, and knowledge management.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Enhance business performance measurement through improved metrics, accuracy, and statistical modeling.
- Identify and implement best practices for process improvement and documentation across the team.
- Proactively assess risks and gaps in ongoing business processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives for cost savings and efficiency.
- Work with external partners and vendors on cross-functional projects.
Applied Data Science:
- Execute models, manage outputs, and communicate insights clearly.
- Collaborate with internal teams to enhance analytical models.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses, including descriptive and predictive modeling.
- Develop AI/ML and statistical prototypes to analyze key business drivers.
Collaboration and Adaptability:
- Establish strong relationships with cross-functional partners for seamless coordination and information sharing.
Technical Expertise & Skills
- Expertise in time-series forecasting, survival analysis, and agent-based modeling.
- Broad experience in data analysis, management, and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R for data analysis and model development.
- Strong knowledge of regression analysis, classification, clustering, AI/ML techniques, and experimental design.
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms.
- Advanced Excel skills (Solver, macros, VBA) and experience in financial modeling.
- Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualization tools.
Communication & Decision Making
- Ability to present complex concepts simply and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and decision-making autonomy.
- Self-driven, proactive, and adaptable in dynamic environments.
- Capable of managing and collaborating on projects with external vendors and consultants.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Social Science, Statistics, Management Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field. Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree with relevant work experience.
- 10 years of experience in advanced analytics, forecasting, pricing, and consumer behavior modeling.
- Strong communication skills and ability to engage with senior leadership.
- Growth mindset, curiosity, and a passion for excellence.
Preferred:
- Experience in the healthcare or plasma industry.
- Management consulting experience.
