KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clinic Operations:
- Manage the overall operational efficiency of the dialysis clinic, encompassing cost management, process optimization, staffing, and adherence to quality benchmarks.
- Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities for all direct reports.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments such as Human Resources, Quality Assurance, and Technical Services.
- May oversee the facility's home dialysis program, coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain the integrity of medical and operational records, ensuring compliance with data collection and auditing protocols.
- Ensure timely completion of required medical reviews and coding procedures.
- Manage clinic finances, including the efficient use of resources and regular review of financial performance.
- Oversee all necessary internal and external reporting requirements and participate in regulatory surveys.
Patient Care:
- Coordinate all facets of patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team, from initial intake through discharge.
- Ensure comprehensive patient education regarding treatment options, quality measures, and access care.
- Serve as a key resource for patients and their families, addressing concerns and inquiries.
- Ensure the timely completion of patient assessments and individualized care plans.
- Manage patient scheduling to optimize facility efficiency and develop strategies for addressing missed treatments.
- Plan, coordinate, and verify patient eligibility for dialysis services.
- Report any changes in patient status related to clinical matters, insurance, or logistical issues.
Staff Management:
- Participate in the recruitment and selection of new team members and ensure thorough onboarding and mandatory training.
- Verify that all patient care staff maintain current licenses and certifications and complete required training.
- Provide regular support and foster professional development opportunities for all clinical staff.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company benefits, policies, procedures, and operational processes.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations and establish annual professional goals.
- Address performance issues and collaborate with operational leadership and Human Resources as needed.
- Manage staff scheduling and payroll processes.
Physician Collaboration:
- Facilitate the credentialing process for medical staff and ensure compliance with relevant medical staff bylaws.
- Cultivate strong working relationships with physicians, ensuring consistent and effective communication.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings that contribute to the development of facility policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (Registered Nurse).
- Current and valid nursing license in the relevant jurisdiction.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Required:6 years of operational experience within a healthcare setting.
- 12 months of clinical nursing experience.
- 6 months of experience in chronic or acute dialysis nursing.
- Successful completion of a color vision assessment.
- Preferred:3 years of supervisory or project/program management experience.
- Experience in medical-surgical or critical care nursing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The role involves a combination of administrative tasks, computer work, and direct interaction with patients, staff, and physicians.
- Travel between assigned facilities and other locations may be required for meetings and operational needs.
- The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility with regulated temperatures and moderate noise levels.
