Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Leader
Location: Hyattsville, MD (occasional work from home)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an EHS Leader to provide site-level expertise in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management. This role will support business units in implementing safety programs, ensuring compliance, and fostering a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will have experience in risk management, training, hazard assessment, and compliance programs. Bilingual (Spanish) candidates are highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee injury prevention programs to promote a culture of safety.
- Identify, assess, and control workplace hazards while supporting supervisors in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
- Develop and deliver EHS training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Support workers’ compensation claims management, OSHA reporting, and return-to-work initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to align EHS strategies with business goals.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and contribute to the development of standardized safety policies and procedures.
- Manage environmental compliance programs, including general liability, motor vehicle, and property damage claims.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Required: Bachelor's degree in EHS, Risk Management, Safety, Industrial/Quality/Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
- Required: 3 years of EHS program management experience in a multi-site organization.
- Preferred: 3-6 years of progressive EHS leadership experience.
Certifications:
- Preferred: Associate Safety Professional (ASP) certification or ability to obtain within one year.
- Highly Desirable: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or ISO 14001/ISO 45001 certification.
Key Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Ability to simplify and communicate complex safety regulations for various stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to drive a strong safety culture and implement behavior-based safety programs.
- Skilled in risk assessment, incident investigations, and safety training.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities to resolve complex safety challenges.
- Experience working in unionized environments is a plus.
