Position Purpose
BrandEd is a successful group of education businesses, including, Sotheby’s Institute of Art, the School of the New York Times, City Football Leadership Institute and Condé Nast College. Its mission is to build compelling education programs in partnership with the world’s best brands. In line with its expansion and plans for growth, a new division has been created to work across schools on the development and delivery of non-MA programs – the Collegiate and Professional Group (CPG). The Group’s initial focus is the School of the New York Times and Sotheby’s Institute of Art.
The Program Manager (PM), Residential Life is a full-time temporary position, with the potential for transitioning into a permanent role based on performance, business needs, and successful completion of the temporary contract. The Program Manager (PM), Residential Life is responsible for providing a broad range of business, operational, logistical, and programming (co-curricular/extracurricular). This may include but is not limited to Sotheby’s Institute of Art (SIA) Summer Institute, the Vogue School, and The School of The New York Times (SoNYT).
The PM will support the Director, Residential Life through: assisting with the sourcing and managing suitable residential accommodation for our students; overseeing residential staff hiring and training and team leadership as required; supporting the welfare needs of our residential students in line with their age and level of independence; working closely with the relevant teams to deliver an excellent student experience; closely managing the budget provided to support and deliver these programs; and other duties as assigned.

- Work closely with various departments to ensure the residential options are appropriate to the needs of the program and the student demographic.
- With support from the Director, Residential Life lead recruitment and hiring of the residential support team– as agreed and within defined budgets.
- With support from the Director, Residential Life, oversee the training programs for all Residential Life staff and work closely with team leaders to develop an outstanding team culture.
- With the Director, Residential Life, ensure all aspects of compliance, health and safety, risk and other related areas are for both students and staff alike.
- In collaboration with the Residential Life Team, plan and implement Residential Life programming while ensuring no overspending – as agreed and within defined budgets.
- In collaboration with the Program Team oversee and facilitate all communication channels (digital and physical) to residential staff to ensure proper distribution of information.
- Lead on the welfare, pastoral, health, and wellbeing elements of Residential Life for both students and staff alike.
- Supervise and discipline the Residential Life team and escalate to the Director of the Program, Global Director of CPG or General Counsel, where appropriate.
- Support and embrace DEIB and initiatives that foster this work across BrandEd’s schools.

- Must have excellent organizational and logistical skills and should be a natural problem solver.
- Must have energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to the success of the fundamental mission of BrandEd
- Must have a broad familiarity with the secondary and tertiary education systems of the US.
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends during the summer and stay in the dorms when needed.
- Ability to respond quickly and appropriately to unexpected incidents.
- Ability to interact with the parent/guardian community, and the broader community, with the highest degree of professionalism.
- Ability to be a self-starter and work effectively with a team of diverse constituents.
- Willingness to live on campus during the program duration, though not required.
- Bachelor’s degree
- Supervisory experience required
- Residential life experience at a university or boarding school preferred
- Experience creating, managing, and leading programs
- Experience working with similar residential academic summer programs
- Experience in academic programs for pre-college aged students, with an understanding of the special challenges posed by residential programs for students between 14 - 24
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent command of the English language.
