Job Description
Soudal is currently seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Operational Buyer. The Operational Buyer will be a part of supply chain team to plan, purchase, and track purchases of products, materials, or services. This position reports directly to the supply chain manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Place purchase orders for multiple departments with approved vendors using SAP and Hermes software.
Monitor stock levels to determine appropriate buying needs.
Work with operations team members in support of company goals with regards to purchasing.
Ensure accuracy of information, including but not limited to, ship-to location, current pricing, part numbers, descriptions, and delivery dates.
Develop working relationships with vendors.
Schedule tanker and container deliveries.
Ensure delivery on due date to accommodate production schedule.
Communicate with affected teams regarding delays or issues and update revised information into SAP.
Track on-time delivery performance.
Where applicable, maintain spreadsheets as an aid in combining similar vendor parts to ensure EOQ and best freight opportunities.
Work with quality team members with regards to defective and / or rejected materials to procure replacement or applicable reimbursements
Qualifications :
Education : High School diploma or GED equivalent
Experience Requirements : 3-5 years experience in a manufacturing environment serving in a buyer role is preferred. Experience with SAP preferred.
Analytical Acumen : Strong problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to independently execute tasks and escalate issues as needed.
Organizational Excellence : Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
