Responsibilities
- Project Analysis: Review project drawings, specifications, and documents to fully understand project requirements.
- Cost Estimation: Analyze and interpret blueprints, take-offs, and technical documents to accurately estimate material, labor, and equipment costs for concrete and masonry projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather necessary information for precise estimates.
- Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids and proposals, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Software Utilization: Use estimating software (such as Planswift) and other tools to ensure accurate and efficient cost calculations.
- Market Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, material costs, and construction methods to maintain accuracy in estimates.
- Subcontractor Selection: Assist in the negotiation and selection of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate and communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and construction teams.
- Technical Support: Provide technical expertise and guidance to the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as a Concrete and Masonry Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Masonry/Concrete Estimating: Minimum of 2 years (Required)
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of concrete and masonry materials, methods, and costs.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Mathematical Aptitude: Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Software Proficiency: Must have experience using estimating softwares such as Xactimate, PlanSwift, Tradesman, STACKT and other relevant tools.
- Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Time Management: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
