About the Role
The Business Development Analyst will join a private investment firm located in the Northeast Corridor . The high-performing and motivated Business Development Analyst will support the organization’s growth initiatives and have the opportunity to develop a long-term career in business development within a fast-paced and collaborative environment .
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the organization’s sourcing and pipeline development platform to generate new opportunities, including overseeing assignments, performing conflict checks, and managing the pipeline of potential leads.
- Creating and maintaining internal business development reports.
- Tracking and maintaining a pipeline of opportunities for growth and expansion.
- Managing and maintaining relationships with external partners, including scheduling update calls, tracking activity in the CRM, and qualifying leads.
- Analyzing and managing the organization’s client relationship management system (CRM).
- Collaborating with internal teams to create and maintain business development materials, reports, and presentations.
- Drafting and distributing marketing materials and updates for the business development team.
- Contributing to meetings by preparing materials, tracking action items, and ensuring follow- through.
- Qualifying inbound opportunities based on predefined criteria.
- Reviewing and qualifying prospects from industry events and trade shows.
- Supervising summer interns working on sourcing-related projects.
- Overseeing the use and administration of third-party data and subscription tools.
- Tracking and maintaining data on business opportunities using external administrative support.
- Updating and distributing quarterly sourcing materials with minimal oversight.
- Exploring and implementing potential time-saving technologies, including AI tools, to enhance team efficiency.
- Collaborating with internal teams to optimize, clean, and analyze data for business development purposes.
Professional Experience & Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from a competitive four-year institution
- At least two years of experience in professional services
- Experience working with and maintaining a CRM
- Familiarity with data/software platforms for market research or deal sourcing (e.g., Pitchbook, SourceScrub, Grata, CapIQ) is preferred but not required.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with experience managing large datasets and information systems.
- Background in private equity, consulting, investment banking, or other related industries is a plus.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Analytical, organized, and solution- oriented.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive and self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn new concepts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel (e.g., pivot tables and lookups), PowerPoint, and Word.
Salary
- $100,000 to $120,000 total comp
- Commensurate with experience and ability to perform on collective goals.
