This role supports a highly matrixed team. A successful executive in this role is a strategic partner to our hospital partners and field teams while building trust and confidence with client stakeholders through strong relationships, communication and visibility.The VP will drive operational and financial performance in existing and new programs through direct influence, a team of operators, in partnership with clinical leadership.This role will lead and provide the highest level of provider and client support to hospital medicine, emergency medicine, and ancillary service line teams and C-suite executives for hospitals. They will strategically lead client operational delivery with our existing clients ensuring they receive value from Sound with a focus on retention and growth.THE DETAILSIn this role, you will be responsible for working with our Physician Advisory Services Team, Hospitalist Telemedicine Team, Clinical Ambassador Team, Operational Execution of the Managed Service Partnership.Relationship Management, Client Retention and Market GrowthProactively utilizing Sound and industry knowledge to lead discussions with hospital partners regarding short term and long-term strategic objectives, effectively communicating where Sound can provide a solution.Building strong relationships with the field teams and services line leaders in each region reporting on and monitoring operational performance monthly.In conjunction with field, services line leaders and COO maintaining knowledge of contract terms and work collaboratively to, proactively engaging with partners to ensure renewal of relationship.Provide support for field and service line leaders in preparation for quarterly Joint Operations Committee (JOC).Provide support in preparations for Quarterly Performance Reviews, and other partner hospital interactions. Reviewing content for operational metrics for final sign-off of all client-facing templates (scorecards, dashboards, action plans, etc.) that have been developed.Effectively managing relationships / processes with central services departments to maximize stakeholder, client, and colleague value.In conjunction with field, service line, COO and dyad leaders review proposals for new business and expansion of current business, including financial proformas. This includes supporting or leading contract negotiations.OperationsAligning with COO, field, service line and dyad partners to develop people, processes and programs that will drive quality, financial performance and growth.Work collaboratively with field, services line, COO and dyad leaders to enhance and find opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness of central operations for profit and loss improvement.Reviewing, planning and / or developing annual budgets of central operational support and assist in quarterly forecasting process.Provide insight to COO, field, services line and dyad partners to action plan around key contribution margin drivers.Assisting in preparation of and participating in Quarterly Operating Reviews (QOR) at the request of COO, services line and field leaders.LeadershipProviding supervision and development for direct reports to ensure appropriate succession and capacity planning.Creating a culture of ownership among their team leveraging Sound’s core values.Creating and driving management processes that embrace the principles and rigor of the Sound Way of Managing.Final oversight for day-to-day site operations including matters related to payroll, credentialing, human resources, recruiting, etc. with assistance of direct reports and central office departments.VALUESCustomer-focused : Puts the customer's (internal and external) needs first and makes customers their top priority.Strategic Thinker : Demonstrates the ability to look at the big picture and proactively develop a plan of action.Relationship Building and Maintenance : The ability to create and nourish healthy, strong relationships, as the face of Sound.Teamwork : Demonstrates the ability to pull people together into highly effective teams along with ability to work in a highly matrixed organization.Critical Thinking : Demonstrates the ability to be proactive, anticipate needs; ability to make good decisions with incomplete, ambiguous information.Collaborative : Demonstrates the ability to work well with others to accomplish a goal and get the work done; takes opinions of others into consideration; includes others in the decision-making process.Bias toward action : Has a focus on progress rather than perfection. Breaks things into bite-sized pieces in order to make progress against larger goals.Visionary : Demonstrates the ability to see, articulate and share the future of the organization in ways that engage and motivate those around them with a clear vision and plan for the future.Driven : Motivated to succeed and get things done at a high level of achievement.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIESExpert knowledge of healthcare landscape and market forces driving the acute care delivery models.Working knowledge of healthcare payment models, physician practice management, revenue cycle, payer contracting, managed care models, and Accountable Care Organization structure.Knowledge and understanding of the financial and operational impacts within geographic and macro market changes.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of MS Project.Experience working in a cross functional, matrixed environment.Demonstrated record of using a strategic and consultative approach to adding value, engaging and building solutions with partners.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field.8-10 years' experience working with healthcare operational management, including financial statements and working knowledge of hospital and healthcare informatics, including quality measures, 3-4 years’ experience in client-facing roles with hospitals / health systems and 3-4 years' experience managing a physician group practice.Pay Range : $140,000-190,000 annually, plus a management bonus opportunity.
