About SPL

Founded in 2010, Sound Production & Lighting LLC (SPL) is a full-service production company specializing in both live event production and permanent audiovisual system integration. With a nationwide reach, SPL delivers cutting-edge technology, creative production solutions, and expert technical execution to a diverse range of clients.

Our live event production services include full-scale audiovisual support for corporate conferences, trade shows, galas, concerts, and hybrid events, ensuring seamless execution and high-impact experiences. Our permanent system integration division designs and installs state-of-the-art AV systems, lighting, sound, and digital signage for venues, corporate offices, entertainment spaces, and event facilities.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Marketing Associate to help elevate our brand, expand our digital presence, and support our sales efforts with compelling content and strategic marketing initiatives.

The Opportunity

SPL is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and strategic Marketing Associate to support content creation, digital marketing, and sales enablement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for content marketing, SEO, and digital advertising who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Associate will be responsible for creating engaging content, managing digital advertising campaigns, and supporting sales initiatives that drive brand awareness and business growth.

This position is currently based in Skokie, IL but will be moving to North Brook, IL to a larger facility in summer 2025…hooray for growth!

Internally, we consider this position to be “smart hybrid”, meaning, you will be generally free to choose which days you are in the office on a week-by-week basis as long as you average (2) two days per week across a given month.

However, this system also means there will be occasions with event productions or installations where we ask you to come in on specific days of the week, or rarely, every day in a given week in order to accomplish certain marketing initiatives. You can then work from home a compensative amount to offset and hit that average of (2) two days in the office per week over the course of that month. We chose this setup because it echoes the ebb and flow of our business cycles with events and installations – which consists of several peaks and valleys between installs and event days over the course of a month.

What You’ll Do

Content Creation & Social Media Management

  • Develop and manage content for SPL’s website, blog, and social media channels, ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.
  • Write and edit blog posts, case studies, press releases, and client success stories that showcase SPL’s event production and AV integration capabilities.
  • Create engaging social media posts, visuals, and short-form videos to build SPL’s presence on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
  • Monitor social media trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to refine SPL’s content strategy and maximize engagement.
  • Track performance metrics, analyze engagement data, and adjust content strategies to optimize reach and impact.

Marketing & Sales Support

  • Work closely with the sales team to create marketing and sales materials that support client outreach, presentations, and proposals.
  • Assist in the development of brochures, case studies, one-pagers, and sales decks that effectively communicate SPL’s value proposition.
  • Maintain and update SPL’s marketing asset library, ensuring sales representatives have access to the latest content and branding materials.

SEO & Digital Advertising

  • Assist the Director of Marketing with SEO optimization, including keyword research, search phrase sorting in Google Ads, content strategy, and backlinking to improve SPL’s organic search rankings.

Who You Are

A Creative & Strategic Marketer

  • You have experience in digital marketing, content creation, or social media management, ideally within event production, AV integration, or B2B industries.
  • You can write compelling content, craft engaging social media posts, and develop visually appealing marketing materials.
  • You are detail-oriented and organized, able to manage multiple marketing campaigns, content calendars, and deadlines simultaneously.

A Digital Marketing & SEO Enthusiast

  • You understand the fundamentals of SEO, keyword research, and content optimization to drive website traffic.
  • You are familiar with Google Ads, PPC campaigns, and paid social media advertising, or eager to learn.
  • You analyze data-driven insights to adjust content and advertising strategies for maximum effectiveness.

A Strong Collaborator & Communicator

  • You work well in cross-functional teams, collaborating with sales, design, and production teams to bring marketing initiatives to life.
  • You are a proactive problem solver, taking initiative in suggesting and implementing new marketing strategies.
  • You translate complex event production and AV integration concepts into accessible, engaging marketing content.

A Passionate Storyteller & Brand Builder

  • You are excited about event production, AV technology, and the power of live experiences.
  • You have a keen eye for branding and design, ensuring consistency across all marketing channels.
  • You stay up-to-date on the latest trends in digital marketing, content strategy, and social media engagement.

  • Competitive Salary – Full-time role with career growth potential.
