SPECIAL SECTIONS EDITOR, Part-time (Kitsap, WA)
The award-winning newspapers of the Kitsap News Group are looking for a part-time (24 hours a week) Special Sections Editor for its three weekly newspapers, along with two monthly publications. When not busy with Special Sections, which is the primary function of this role, you will also write features for our newspapers.
We want a skilled and passionate editor/writer who loves covering community news. Applicants must be self-starters willing to take responsibility for reporting, writing, taking photographs, editing, writing headlines and basically doing everything but paginate the final product.

EXPECTATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Should have a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Prefer 2-5 years of experience and Kitsap County resident, but all others, including recent college graduates, are encouraged to apply.
- Must have advanced computer skills and a working knowledge of AP style.
- Must be able to work as part of a team and independently as the workload dictates.
- Shooting photographs is required.
- Should be proficient at utilizing digital tools and print / digital software in the field.
- Must complete clerical tasks, clocking in and out, expense reporting etc.
- Must follow all company policies and procedures. Must have a working cell phone and reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and be properly insured.
