Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Painter and Blaster to join our team at Venture Dynamics, specializing in the maintenance and restoration of submarines and aircraft carriers. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary certifications and skills to perform sandblasting and painting tasks in adherence to industry standards and safety regulations. This position requires a detail-oriented professional committed to upholding the highest quality of marine vessel maintenance and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sandblasting and surface preparation on submarines and aircraft carriers using appropriate industrial equipment.
- Apply marine coatings and paints to exterior and interior surfaces of vessels, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Interpret job specifications and technical blueprints to execute painting and blasting projects effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct inspections and quality checks to ensure all work meets specified requirements and industry standards.
- Maintain and operate blasting and painting equipment safely, ensuring all tools are in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and attending regular safety trainings as required by Marine OSHA 10 standards.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure projects are completed on time and to the quality standards expected.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with environmental and waste management regulations.
- Complete all necessary documentation and reports related to the projects, including timekeeping and material usage records.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a verifiable C7, C12, or C14 certification through the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC).
- At least 4 years of experience in a shipyard or marine environment, with proven expertise in marine painting and blasting.
- Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) credential for access to Navy bases.
- Completion of Marine OSHA 10 training is mandatory.
- Ability to interpret and work from blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong understanding of marine painting techniques, safety practices, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights, as required by shipyard conditions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
JOB STARTS MAY-DECEMBER
DAY AND SWING SHIFTS AVAILABLE
PAY IS $30-$32/HR WITH $160 x 7 DAYS PER DIEM
MARITIME OSHA 10 IS REQUIRED.
Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a "DBIDS" badge.
Previous Shipyard Experience Required.
Expected hours: 40 – 70 per week

- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Saturday
- Overtime
- Weekends as needed
