Shipyard General Laborer

Venture Dynamics is seeking skilled and motivated Shipyard General Laborers to join our dynamic team supporting the U.S. Navy at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard (PSNS) in Bremerton. As a General Laborer, you will engage in a variety of manual labor tasks, supporting welding/electrical operations, and ensuring safety in designated areas, all while meeting NAVSEA standards. Candidates with previous shipyard experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Perform general manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading vehicles, and assisting team members as needed.
• Utilize basic hand tools such as saws, drills, grinders, and other equipment safely and effectively.
• Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from work sites as required.
• Conduct Firewatch duties, ensuring safety during welding operations and maintaining a clear area around welders.
• Participate in special projects and follow directions from supervisors in adherence to NAVSEA standards.
• Keep work areas clean and organized, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

**Qualifications**

• Minimum of 0-1 years of related experience in a labor or shipyard-related role.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to perform general maintenance tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to obtain a DBIDS badge for access to Naval Bases and Facilities.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

**Required Technical Skills**

• Proficiency in using hand tools and performing manual labor tasks.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, including adhering to Maritime OSHA 10 safety standards.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers.
• Capability to communicate effectively with team members regarding project tasks and safety protocols.

**Tools Required**

Candidates must possess personal tools, including but not limited to:

• 9/16" and 7/16" wrenches
• 8" crescent wrench
• Tin snips
• Needle nose pliers
• Channel locks
• Screwdrivers

• Work gloves

**Pay:** $21.00 - $25.00 per hour (depending on experience)

**Expected Hours:** 40 – 70 hours per week

**Schedule:**

• 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts
• Day shift and Evening shift
• Monday to Saturday

• Overtime and weekends as needed
