The Operations Manager will lead the Catalyst Acoustics Group (CAG) manufacturing operations team. The individual in this role will have overall responsibility for the safe and efficient production of multiple brands including equipment, processes, and people. This role will ensure company production objectives are met, at the lowest cost and consistent with quality requirements. Supervise production control, methods, cost, maintenance, and other related areas.
Job Functions :
Operations Management
- Ensure proactive and robust Safety and Environmental Health programs are in place and supported daily following Catalyst and local policies.
- Ensure that manufacturing capabilities meet or exceed all industry and customer requirements for cost, quality, and responsiveness.
- Manage day-to-day operations, including task assignments, deadlines, workback plans, and templates.
- Manages scheduling department, direct and indirect labor within the manufacturing plant.
- Coordinate with the VP of Operations, leadership team, and other supporting departments to develop and implement processes related to operating models, business rhythms, meeting cadences, and marketing moments.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with guidelines and organizational goals.
- Develop, implement, and track KPIs and other metrics to assure optimal team / department performance.
- Establish new and validate current labor standards and drive actions for system maintenance and necessary training and process alignment.
- Manage and oversee the maintenance of our office facilities and equipment following PM checklists.
- Coordinate with local vendors as maintenance or repairs are necessary.
- Develop, implement, and track KPIs and other metrics to assure optimal team / department performance.
- Works closely with central purchasing department on material related issues.
- Ensures cycle counting is executed as scheduled and necessary adjustments are being investigated.
- Ensures month end closing data is accurate and necessary reports are accurate.
- Creates Operations presentations as needed.
- Manages receiving, put away, and shipping activities.
- Support organizational goal setting process. Manage shop floor scheduling activities with cross-collaboration of various functions to ensure delivery as per planned schedule through diligent management of materials, resources, and cost to meet stated financial objectives.
- Responsible for actively participating in the maintenance and execution of our Emergency Action Plan
Financial
Review with and gather financial information as requested by VP Operations, Catalyst Acoustics Group and Group President, while working in coordination with the leadership of the supported member companiesCoordinate expenses and revenue in preparation for monthly business reviews and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reporting. KPIs included but are not limited to Sales targets, on time delivery, quality, productivity measures, continuous improvement initiatives, costs.Assure products are produced within standard costs, quality standards, and shipping cycle while maintaining on-time shipments through coordination with respective member company brands.Participate in providing input and assisting in the development of the yearly Budget process to include any CAPEX requirements. Assist in the update of performance to the Budget on a quarterly basis to include quarterly forecasts.Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement best practices and tools to improve efficiency and quality of operations and processes.Assure quality process, tracking and follow-up is being maintained and our products are being produced with the quality our customers expect. Report occurrences and report CPAR to central function of Quality.Responsible for achieving environmental, safety and other improvement goals.Conduct routine inspections of operating areas, check project completion status, review operating logs, check abnormal equipment operations, optimize work efficiency, ensure good housekeeping, make safety observations, etc.Lead and sustain 5S principles within the team following central function guidance and methods.Improve the optimization of plant / line footprint via Kaizen and CIP initiatives.Follow given Safety guidance and rules from central function to assure the company is complying with company, state, and federal safety and health procedures and requirements.Talent Management / People Leader
Responsible for creating and maintaining a professional culture and atmosphere that leads to strong performance and employee retention and growth.Provide leadership, coaching and development for a series of direct reports to include department managers and functional leaders.Develop robust working relationship and processes to support Product / Brand / Member Company performance targets to enable business growth targetsManage personnel development and performance management programs in accordance with company guidelines.Work with the HR Department to ensure that all HR procedures are followed including promotions, salary increases, immediate and clear documentation of incidents and concerns with appropriate disciplinary action as necessary to include termination if required.Complete annual employee reviews for all direct and indirect reports.Ensure all employees are up to date with all required training, and responsible for identifying any additional training needs at the site.Recruit, select, and develop operations employees.Establish training needs external and internal to improve Plant Skill Set Matrix.Set objectives for service employees and monitor results through appraisals and scorecards.Determine staffing levels and hiring.Prepare schedules and ensure paperwork is submitted promptly.Sales
Plan for resources to satisfy market demand based on seasonality and “project” based business “flow”.Develop and implement key tactics to achieve targeted performance measurement goals in support of the Business Plan.Assure appropriate staff levels based on actual and anticipated workload and business growth plan and develop and submit staffing plans as needed / requested.Review cost of sales reports and collaborate with sales on required adjustments.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering / Operations focus preferred.8 years’ experience in general business & manufacturing expertiseExperience in structural MIG welding, operating machinery such as Waterjet, 3-axis CNC, general assembly.World Class Manufacturing experience highly preferred.TPM / Six Sigma / LEAN experience required and proven successful implementation of such programs.Proficiency in reading and speaking Spanish is preferred.Catalyst offers a friendly and professional working environment that supports career and personal development that includes a competitive compensation package and comprehensive training programs.
