The residential clinician will provide therapeutic interventions to clients at Keystone in the Fremont neighborhood. This clinician will focus on treatment planning, goal setting, review of progress, clinical documentation, and monitoring a caseload of approximately 32 clients. This person will work collaboratively with case managers to provide daily services incorporating recovery principles, supporting clients.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direct services such as individual and group counseling, assessments, case management services, care coordination, treatment planning, progress notes, Crisis Plans, Behavior Plans, and monthly LRA/Court order monitoring and/or internal and external organization referrals for clients.
  • Develops treatment plans and maintains accurate and timely clinical records according to organization policy.
  • Comply with training and licensing standards per county expectations for a Residential Treatment Facility (RTF) and state guidelines for Enhanced Services Facilities (ESF).  
  • Prepares necessary reports, summaries, and progress notes, and incorporates them into clinical records.
  • Assists clients as they work to remain stable in the community, thereby reducing the use of hospitals or involuntary treatment services.
  • Monitors medication regimes and treatment compliance.
  • Monitors utilization of services and the success of outcome measures.
  • Participates in team member meetings, consultations, case presentations, and in-service training.
  • Participates in ongoing program development and assessment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Establishes and maintains positive, ethical, and professional working relationships with clinical team members, residents, and outside organizations. Relates to a wide variety of people including members of ethnic and sexual minority populations and respects individual and cultural differences.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in a Mental Health Professional (MHP) eligible program is preferred. A Bachelor's degree with MHP designation is required.
  • Experience with case management, assessments, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction Model, and Trauma Informed Care preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Be able to maintain appropriate boundaries with residents and staff and have sound judgment.
  • Have the demonstrated ability to work effectively under supervision, as well as independently when necessary.
  • Be able to apply crisis intervention skills and manage potentially volatile situations.
  • Be able to promote and support the use of recovery principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and personal interaction skills
  • Be able to do simple mathematics.
  • Have proven assessment skills to evaluate resident functioning

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:

  • Mental Health Professional designation required.
  • Obtain and maintain current Agency Affiliated Counselor license with DOH within first 30 days of hire.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and insurable driving record.
  • First Aid and CPR certifications are required within 30 days of hire.
  • A Food Handler’s Permit is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Complete the required Home Care Aid course and obtain a license with DOH within the first 5 months of hire. Obtain 12 hours of CEUs per year.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use hands, and fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The team member frequently is required to stand and sit.
  • The team member is occasionally required to walk.
  • The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds or more with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Individuals must be able to engage vendors, team members, residents, and others over the phone and in person by voice.

Compensation: $29.94- $33.64 per hour
