Essential Job Functions
Demonstrate SoundOff Signal’s Core Values in daily interactions with internal and external customers.
Quality Assurance:
Assist with running diagnostic tests as requested
Assist with incoming inspection.
Use measuring equipment to complete first piece inspections.
Assist with root cause analysis on electromechanical assemblies as requested.
Measure parts or gather data to support corrective actions or improvement projects.
Data analysis to propose improvement ideas.
Product Engineering:
Develop Product design changes to satisfy corrective actions based on root cause analysis
Assist in the design, prototype, tooling, validation and manufacture of LED lighting products (under supervision and mentoring of a senior engineer)
Design Vehicle Specific mounting methods for existing lights, including on-site customer visits and installations.
Coordinate, perform and document in-house testing in support of new product development, competitive benchmarking and in-process product changes as requested (Photometrics, Mechanical, Electrical)
Assist product development with construction of prototype units as requested
Fabricate/assemble mechanical components
Assist in the development of mechanical/optical test/validation fixtures as requested
Product Data Management Project:
Review legacy product CAD files (part, assembly, and drawing files) against current production/sellable product and reconcile differences prior to migration to new PDM vault.
Update key part, assembly and drawing files to new CAD standards.
Technical Service:
Repair of miscellaneous lighting products as requested
Additional miscellaneous tasks that may be assigned.
Job Requirements
Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s of Mechanical Engineering college program.
Previous experience in Solid Works 3D CAD design
Previous experience in Product Data Management (PDM), Solid Works preferred.
Proficiency in the basic Microsoft software packages including Word, Excel and Project
Previous experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment involving prototype fabrication, validation and/or design support
Excellent written and oral communication skills

General mechanical aptitude in a shop environment a plus (hand tools, light duty power tools, calipers, etc.)
Physical Requirements
Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
Must be able to handle and work with small parts.
Working Conditions
Mostly office environment, occasional light manufacturing environment
Fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Low noise level in a temperature-controlled setting
Some level of domestic and/or international travel may be required
Mostly normal business hours with occasional need to flex hours
