Description

This is a paid internship, range of $22 / hr - $39 / hr (depending on role and qualifications) for those currently pursuing undergraduate degrees and higher rates for those currently pursuing graduate level degrees.

Tentative 2025 Internship Dates :

  • Semester students : May 19th to July 25th
  • Quarter students : June 16th to August 22nd

    DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

    Sound Transit's People and Culture department oversees human resources and workforce development throughout the Puget Sound region - Link, Sounder, ST Express, and Tacoma Link. You will have an opportunity to be a part of the team that oversees our human resources functions and learn how it effects how a large regional transit system is managed.

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

    JOB DUTIES :

  • Employment Branding / Social Media / and Employment Outreach development and execution.
  • Developing and assisting in the design of internal and external talent acquisition websites.
  • Performance of various tasks involving benefits, leave of absence, and classification / compensation.
  • POTENTIAL PROJECTS :

  • Talent Acquisition web design.
  • Employment marketing / branding design.
  • Community employment outreach strategy build.
  • Projects related to benefits and classification / compensation.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

    Non-Technical

    Applicants must be a current college student in good academic standing, enrolled in an accredited associate, bachelor's or graduate degree program in Human Resources, Web Design, Business / Marketing, Organizational Development or other non-technical discipline or relevant two-year certificate.

    ADDITIONAL SKILLS :

  • Aptitude for creative design and marketing.
  • Basic to intermediate web design ability.
  • Willingness to learn new concepts in human resources and organizational development.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Work is performed in a standard office environment.
