We are an MSP Mentor Top 100 company looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer. A successful candidate for this position will possess strong experience with a variety of network and systems technologies, strong troubleshooting skills, a detail-oriented attitude, excellent customer service, documentation, and communication skills. Our projects are delivered remotely, as well as at client locations. This position is located in the Boston Massachusetts general area.
- Proven track record of successful implementation of enterprise technology projects.
- Experience working with a Project Manager, following PMO best practices for time and expense tracking.
- 25% travel in Massachusetts, CT, Rhode Island, and occasional national travel.
- Previous MSP experience a plus.
Job Description
The Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer’s tasks and responsibilities include:
- Configure and install new network and server hardware, on-premise and in the cloud.
- Migrate physical and virtual servers and upgrade operating systems.
- Configure and install new wireless networks.
- Experience with Office 365 tenant management, as well as Exchange/OneDrive data migration.
- Use RMM tool to deploy software and monitoring agents.
- Familiarity with rack and cable management.
- Provide support for high-level systems and network issues including performance, outages and security incidents.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently with successful results.
- Effectively track status and time in ticketing system.
- Design and update technical documentation.
- Regular communication with project managers and clients, keeping them informed of progress, upcoming changes or agreed outages.
- Remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.
Skills Required
- At least 7 years of IT experience in a support role or related area.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively.
- Experience with SonicWall, Cisco Meraki, and other networking technologies.
- Able to deploy, upgrade, and troubleshoot firewalls, managed switches, wireless controllers and WAPs.
- Understand protocols such as SNMP for troubleshooting.
- Support services for Microsoft related technologies: Windows Desktop, Windows Server, Exchange, SQL, Office 365.
- Knowledge in all supported Microsoft Operating Systems and Office products.
- Understanding TCP/IP technologies such as DHCP, DNS, and related troubleshooting tools.
- Networking, WAN concepts, SD-WAN and Layer 3 networking concepts.
- Familiarity with cloud solutions and architecture such as Microsoft Azure
- Familiarity with disaster recovery systems.
- Experience with Hyper-V and VMware HypervisorsOffice 365 administration.
- Ability to switch tasks frequently.
- Shell scripting (PowerShell, etc.) a plus
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must be a US Person (US Citizen or legal Permanent Resident)
