What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician II-IV position at Source Energy?
Source energy exists to dramatically improve the accessibility and affordability of energy in space. In this position, you will work in the production organization under the production supervisor supporting build and test of flight and development hardware for spacecraft. You will work closely with design and manufacturing engineers to build prototypes, establish and qualify new processes, write and execute build procedures, and continually seek improvement of our internal processes. The success of Source depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and throughput of the products that you will deliver.
- Perform receiving inspection on incoming hardware, organize, and maintain inventory locations.
- Mechanical assembly, electrical assembly and test of solar modules.
- Maintaining appropriate cleanliness levels
- Following build instructions
- Documenting non-conformances
- Wire harnessing
- Run functional testing of built hardware, including setup, instrumentation, test execution, and teardown
- Work closely with engineers to develop processes and procedures for new hardware builds utilizing special equipment in an R&D environment
- Perform and support test setups as needed to support development, acceptance, and qualification tests across several test regimes like thermal cycling and vibration testing.
- High school degree or equivalency certificate
- 5 year of hands-on experience in electronic or mechanical assembly in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret and work from drawings, controlled documentation and processes such as: layout drawings, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures/work instructions; schematics, engineering drawings, and parts list
- Able to proficiently use a PC, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
- Associate degree in an applicable field
- 5 years of hands-on work experience in electro-mechanical assembly and integration in an automotive, medical devices, aerospace or other high-reliability manufacturing environment.
- Electro-mechanical prototype assembly and development in an R&D environment.
- Soldering experience preferably J-STD-001 certified
- Command line operation of programs (python, Linux)
- Experience with instrumenting, logging, and analyzing data from thermal chambers, strain gauges, PLCs, dataloggers, multimeters, and/or oscilloscopes.
- Excellent concentration and attention to detail with outstanding work efficiency and accuracy
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
- Able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted

Colorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $25.00 -$40.00/hour, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The salary range for this role is intentionally wide as we are evaluating individuals based on their unique experience and abilities to fit our needs.
