What you’ll be doing
As an Intern/Co-Op individual, you will be responsible for assisting the manufacturing team with the plant's daily operations, analyzing the manufacturing process and procedures, and recommending strategic solutions to maximize productivity and minimize costs
Requirements
- Technical support to the manufacturing and new product development team
- Create standard operating procedure documents
- Promote and assist in the implementation of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques
- Develop and modify 3D models & 2D drawings for both new and existing products
- Prepare results from experiments and report findings to the team
- Research, analyze, and create material specifications used in production
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be currently enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year degree college program with a focus on Industrial Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- CAD knowledge (Solidworks, etc.).
- Experience in a manufacturing or factory environment is preferred, but not required
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task with respect to tasks, projects, CAD standards, etc. on a daily basis
Physical Demands
- Mobility necessary to perform a variety of tasks that involve standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, bending, and twisting, possibly reaching chest high and overhead for materials
- Ability to lift/move/pull 10-50lbs occasionally throughout the day
- Ability to work within a noisy environment on the manufacturing floor
- Must be able to stand and or walk (90% of the day) and consistently reach, bend, and move inside the facility to move product
