Industrial Engineer - Work Measurement & Labor Standards (Logistics Facilities)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Engineer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive work measurement program and labor standards development within our logistics facilities. This role will focus on analyzing workflow, optimizing productivity, and setting performance benchmarks to enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operations and management teams to ensure accurate labor standards are established, implemented, maintained, and improved across the facilities.

About The Role
Industrial Engineer - Work Measurement & Labor Standards (Logistics Facilities)
We are seeking a detail-oriented Industrial Engineer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive work measurement program and labor standards development within our logistics facilities. This role will focus on analyzing workflow, optimizing productivity, and setting performance benchmarks to enhance operational efficiency. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operations and management teams to ensure accurate labor standards are established, implemented, maintained, and improved across the facilities.
Responsibilities
- Work Measurement & Labor Standards:
- Develop, implement, and create work measurement programs to establish labor standards across various logistics functions (e.g., receiving, sorting, picking, packing, shipping).
- Conduct time and motion studies to assess task durations and improve process efficiency.
- Analyze workflow patterns and identify opportunities for process optimization and reduction of non-value-added activities.
- Use industry-standard methods (e.g., MTM, MOST, Time Study) to evaluate work content and set accurate labor standards.
- Establish benchmarks for key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, cycle time, and labor efficiency.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Collect and analyze operational data to assess current productivity levels and identify areas for improvement.
- Generate reports and present findings to management, making recommendations for improvements based on data-driven insights.
- Use software tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, and Labor Management Systems (LMS) to track performance and labor costs.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Partner with site department leaders to understand specific operational challenges and objectives related to workforce productivity.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on labor standards, work measurement techniques, and performance metrics.
- Ensure effective communication of labor standards and expectations to all relevant departments and team members.
- Define a local site agent to manage the program to provide oversight and accountability once standards are developed.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Lead initiatives aimed at improving process efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing labor utilization.
- Monitor industry trends and best practices in labor standards development and integrate them into existing programs.
- Ensure the continuous review and adjustment of labor standards to align with changing operational requirements or improvements in process technologies.
- Compliance, Safety & Quality:
- Ensure all work measurement practices comply with safety and quality regulations and company policies.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality and efficiency by ensuring that labor standards support safe working conditions without compromising quality
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or past work experience developing work measurement standards and labor management systems. Beneficial to have experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Exposure to work measurement techniques (Time Studies, MTM, MOST, or similar methods) for labor standards development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Experience in Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, Warehouse Management System and Labor Management System preferred.
- Willingness to travel in North America to our 23 logistic facilities.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to create and deliver training programs for operational teams.

Salary : $70,000 - $75,000
