Building Automation Systems Engineer
We are seeking a skilled Building Automation Systems Engineer to develop, program, and implement database and custom graphics solutions within Building Management Systems (BMS) for assigned projects. This role plays a key part in startup, commissioning, and troubleshooting while ensuring seamless system integration. Candidates should have strong computer skills, experience with networked systems, and the ability to document field conditions and commissioning processes. Collaboration with Project Managers and Engineers is essential to meeting project deadlines and quality expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and program control system databases and software for mid-level BMS projects.
- Support system commissioning and troubleshooting of networked controls.
- Conduct pre-functional software testing to align with project specifications.
- Perform functional testing for standard, third-party, LEED, and Title 24 compliance.
- Work with various vendor software and protocols for third-party integrations.
- Lead field coordination with subcontractors and attend project meetings.
- Provide end-user training and support for project turnover to the service team.
- Ensure accurate cost tracking and documentation of field work and commissioning.
- Supervise field teams on mid-sized projects and mentor junior engineers.
- Adhere to safety standards and complete OSHA 10/30 training.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in a technical field or 2-5 years of experience in building automation systems (BAS); Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with additional technical training preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Windows, network structures (TCP/IP), and web navigation.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, prioritize tasks, and operate autonomously.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
