Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and analyze propulsion systems, including engines, turbines, thrusters, and other related components.
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to evaluate propulsion system performance, efficiency, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, aerodynamicists, and manufacturing engineers, to ensure seamless integration of propulsion systems with the overall design.
- Perform testing of propulsion systems, including both laboratory and field testing, and analyze results to ensure compliance with performance specifications.
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to propulsion system issues during design, manufacturing, and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of designs, test procedures, and reports.
- Optimize propulsion systems for performance, cost, and environmental impact, including fuel efficiency, emissions, and noise.
- Stay current on the latest advancements in propulsion technology and contribute innovative solutions to ongoing projects.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and other team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred).
- Proven experience (6 years) in propulsion engineering or a closely related field, preferably in aerospace.
- Proficiency with engineering design tools and simulation software (e.g., MATLAB, ANSYS, CATIA, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, combustion, and materials science as they apply to propulsion systems.
- Experience with testing and validation of propulsion systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to propulsion systems.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with advanced propulsion technologies, such as electric propulsion, hybrid systems, or rocket propulsion.
- Familiarity with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and multi-disciplinary optimization techniques.
- Experience with propulsion system integration and systems engineering.
