Key Responsibilities:
- Design and refine mechanical systems to ensure precise and reliable landing of next-generation aerospace systems.
- Lead the development of key mechanisms, including those for parachute deployment, actuation controls, and drop test platforms.
- Oversee the testing of landing and recovery systems, including conducting drop tests to ensure high-performance standards.
- Perform rigorous qualification of mechanical systems through a variety of environmental tests, including vibration, shock, and thermal assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in mechanical system design and development.
- Expertise in mechanical design, particularly in high-load environments, complex mechanisms, and packaging.
- Proficiency in CAD software, with experience in tools like Siemens NX.
- Familiarity with creating engineering drawings and applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience in managing mechanical design projects from inception through to completion.
- Background in flight test programs and hardware qualification processes.
- Knowledge of parachute systems and airborne technologies.
