What are the responsibilities and job description for the Draftsman position at Source?
The CAD Drafter will be responsible for processing field crew data, drafting survey plans, and preparing various types of land survey drawings using Civil 3D (2018 or newer). The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of survey standards, construction plans, and the ability to work with as-built submittals for municipalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and interpret field crew data and field notes accurately.
- Create and edit survey drawings, including ALTA/ACSM Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Utility Route Surveys, and Topographic Surveys.
- Draft and prepare construction layout calculations for various projects.
- Read and understand construction plans to ensure accurate survey representation.
- Ensure compliance with survey standards and client-specific requirements.
- Assist in preparing as-built submittals for large municipalities.
- Collaborate with surveyors and engineers to resolve any drafting or data-related issues.
- Maintain organization and accuracy in survey files and records.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proficiency in Civil 3D (2018 or newer) is required.
- Experience with processing field data and reading field notes.
- Strong understanding of land surveying standards and principles.
- Ability to interpret and draft construction layout calculations.
- Experience in producing various types of land survey drawings.
- Familiarity with municipality as-built submittal requirements is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Experience:
- 2 years of experience in CAD drafting within a land surveying firm.
- Prior experience working with municipal or large-scale survey projects.
