About the position :
We are seeking an experienced Technology Reporter to join the editorial team at American Banker. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the bank tech and fintech beat. Essential skills include the ability to break news as well as write longer analytical and feature stories on the most important trends in the worlds of tech and banking.
Candidates who can work out of our New York City newsroom are preferred but we will consider remote candidates.
Core responsibilities :
- Develop ongoing beat coverage in the tech and fintech industry
- Cultivate sources and generate enterprise story ideas
- Report and break news on a tight deadline
- Research and write at least one news article a day
- Research and write two enterprise features per month
- Work closely with editors and colleagues in multiple coverage areas
