Job Title: Project Manager – Mission Critical (Data Centers)
Overview:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading and managing construction projects from pre-construction through completion, including warranty phases. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to quality standards. Responsibilities encompass project planning, cost control, contract management, client relations, and team coordination. The primary focus will be on Mission Critical projects, particularly in the Data Center industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety programs, policies, and performance expectations for all team members and subcontractors.
- Oversee daily construction activities for single or multiple projects, ensuring timely and efficient execution.
- Lead project planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost management while setting critical project objectives.
- Build and maintain client relationships; address project-related needs, including proposals and reporting.
- Manage project risk reviews, legal consultations, and contract negotiations, including subcontracts and change orders.
- Implement project plans, including safety, quality assurance, staffing, procurement, and execution strategies.
- Secure permits, coordinate site mobilization/demobilization, and oversee subcontractor RFPs, bidding, and selection processes.
- Monitor and report on project budgeting, cash flow, and status to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to align deliverables with project schedules and requirements.
- Manage construction documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change management, and closeout processes.
- Oversee invoicing, commissioning, and startup coordination between clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Audit safety, quality, and financial progress while ensuring compliance with contracts and performance standards.
- Facilitate training, mentorship, and performance feedback for project team members and field staff.
- Maintain relationships with community groups, building trades, and governmental entities.
- Ensure accurate labor, equipment, and material cost tracking, and manage staffing for project needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 13 years in construction project management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools; experience with scheduling and cost control software preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex, multi-project environments with tight deadlines.
- Experience across industries such as aviation, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, or water preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and compliance with driving and safety standards.
