Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Specialist supports SourcePoint’s technology infrastructure and ensures seamless operations across the organization. This role provides technical support, system maintenance, and asset management while assisting with IT projects and security protocols. The IT Specialist must possess strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer service mindset to support staff and maintain organizational efficiency.
- Reports to: Information Systems Manager
- FLSA: Full-time, hourly (non-exempt)
- Pay: $23 to $33/hour

Essential Job Functions
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide desk-side and remote support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and software applications.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues for end users.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic Microsoft Windows networking issues.
- Device & System Management
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade computers, hardware, and software.
- Rebuild, reimage, and configure computers to maintain performance and compliance.
- Manage fixed assets, including inventory tracking, procurement, and lifecycle management of IT equipment.
- Monitor and manage endpoint security, antivirus solutions, and software updates to ensure compliance.
- User Training & Documentation
- Deliver basic training and support to end users on software, security best practices, and IT policies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and user guides.
- Audio-Visual & Conference Room Support
- Assist with setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of AV systems in conference rooms.
- Provide event support, ensuring smooth operation of presentations, video conferencing, and live-streaming tools.
- Collaboration & Project Support
- Assist the Information Systems Manager with IT projects and initiatives, including system upgrades, network improvements, and security enhancements.
- Support vendor coordination for IT-related purchases, repairs, and service agreements.
Education & Experience
- 2 years of technical support experience OR an associate degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technology field.
- Experience supporting Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 in a professional environment.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and configuring PC and laptop hardware.
- A Certification or equivalent preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Reliable, enthusiastic, with great support etiquette
- Basic understanding of internet-based applications and Windows networking
- Basic understanding of conference room technology (I.e. projectors, AV equipment)
- Proficiency in managing antivirus software and ensuring endpoint security
Essential Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
- Mobility: Frequently moves within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and IT equipment.
- Manual Dexterity: Operates computers, printers, and IT tools with precision.
- Positioning: May need to work under desks, inside server closets, or in confined spaces to maintain IT equipment.
- Lifting & Transporting: Frequently lifts and moves audio/visual equipment and IT hardware weighing up to 75 pounds for setup and maintenance.

In any organization, particularly a small organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities necessary to ensure a smooth continuity of operations within the organization. It is expected that other organizational needs will emerge, which will be assigned to the IT Specialist.
