What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Cafe and Program Host position at SourcePoint?
Summary:
The Lead Café Host is responsible for the daily front of the house operations of Café 55 at SourcePoint. The Host will schedule and train all café, café service line, and kitchen volunteers. The Lead Café Host will assist the Nutrition Administrative Manager in training other café hosts as well as scheduling programming and quarterly special events to enhance the guest experience. The Host will also be responsible for all administrative duties pertaining to Café 55 and offsite cafés. The host will generally be scheduled 8am to 3pm Monday through Friday. There is need for flexibility to attend meetings before and after the regular assigned schedule.
Essential Job Functions and Expectations:
Café Oversight
· Create a vibrant and welcoming environment for café guests and volunteers, offering excellent customer service
· Assist guests with daily registration utilizing Café 55’s kiosk system
· Welcome new guests by assisting them in completing and understanding required registration forms, donations, and meal selection options
· Ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards for a high-risk population
· Maintain beverage station to ensure adequate quantities for lunch service
· Prepare site for service, as well as clean up following service which includes sanitizing all surfaces, emptying trash, cleaning and storing equipment, sweeping, and mopping as needed
Recordkeeping and Reporting
· Complete accurate records, daily reports, and client data entry which meet funding requirements
· Receive payments and donations, as well as prepare daily deposits and corresponding documentation
· Maintain a thorough knowledge of customer eligibility for all funding sources
· Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, completing inventory reports as required
Communication and Collaboration
· Train, schedule, and supervise volunteers assisting with meal service and programs
· Coordinate programs and activities, including quarterly special events, while collaborating with other departments
· Facilitate communication between the front of the house and the back of the house
· Assist with research and implementation of new technology, as needed
· Participate in department goals and initiatives collaboratively
· Resolve guest issues and complaints promptly and effectively
· Adhere to all applicable Nutrition Program policies and procedures
· Attend and participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and in-service education programs, as needed
Education and Experience:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Previous foodservice or front of the house operations experience preferred
· Previous experience with volunteers preferred
· Previous experience in planning programs, activities, or engagement opportunities preferred
· Proficiency in a wide range of software programs, including Microsoft Office 365 suite and the ability to learn software specific to the Nutrition Program

Essential Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
· Ability to lift 30 lbs. on a regular basis without assistance and navigate un-level terrain and stairs

· Ability to maintain a fast pace throughout the entire shift
· In any organization, particularly a small organization, it is necessary to assume new responsibilities appropriate to ensure a smooth continuity of operations with the organization. It is anticipated that other organizational needs will emerge from time to time, which will be assigned to the Lead Café Host.
· The Host is expected to be familiar with the work of others to fill in as needed on a temporary basis.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.50 - $20.00 per hour
