Job Overview
We are a small Shelton law firm that handles mostly workers' compensation files and personal injury files. We are dedicated to fighting for the rights of injured workers. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our growing workers’ compensation practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping people, strong advocacy skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic caseload.
Duties
- Represent injured workers in all aspects of workers' compensation claims
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and Formal hearings (trials).
- Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence
- Conduct case evaluations and settlement negotiations
- Maintain regular client communication and manage client expectations
- Collaborate with a team of experienced attorneys, legal assistants, and support staff
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in Connecticut or awaiting bar results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Prior experience in workers’ compensation or personal injury is a plus but not required
- Bilingual (especially Spanish) is a plus but not required
