What are the responsibilities and job description for the GIS Technician position at South Adams County Water and Sanitation District?
The South Adams County Water & Sanitation is dedicated to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable water resources and services in order to protect public health, the environment, and quality of life and we are seeking to fill a GIS Technician position.
This position will provide assistance to the GIS Department :
- Assists in maintaining and improving the Geographic Information System (GIS) District data
- Performs field data collection using a Global Positioning System (GPS) data collector, digital camera, and other equipment. Transfers collected data into the Server / GIS system.
- Performs geospatial data entry, editing, and mapping tasks utilizing GIS, GPS, Computer-Aided Design (CAD),and asset management technologies.
- Provides high quality map products / graphics using ESRI ArcGIS software / AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Manipulates and manages digital geographic data in support of map production tasks
- Conducts mapping research, in the field and in the office, to resolve conflicting information and ensure the accuracy of the data, updating maps as new data is received.
- Maintains and updates databases using GIS, CAD and other software and provides additional drafting and design services as needed.
- Provides data analysis, modeling, programming and technical support related to GIS.

This position requires working in the field (10%-25%) in a variety of locations, terrains and conditions.
Successful candidate will be required to complete a drug screen and background check prior to employment.
Salary Range : $27.29-34.11 / hr
