Job Summary:
Under general supervision, this position reports directly to the Dean of Enrollment Management. The role is integral to supporting the daily operations of the Financial Aid Office. Responsibilities include assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of policies and procedures that govern the office's activities and services, ensuring compliance and efficiency in the administration of financial aid programs. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.
Salary: Annual salary of $42,000. Plus, excellent benefit package. This is an exempt position.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Minimal oversight of the student workers and other aid office staff
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform all aspects of reviewing and evaluating student files for awarding and or maintaining any institutional, state or federal aid.
· Conduct financial aid presentations.
· Manage the Financial Aid SAIG mailbox. Assist with the review and submittal of educational certifications to the Department of Veteran Affairs.
· Manage the communication plans for potential, incoming and returning students including but not limited to email and print publications.
· Coordinate the online scholarship application platform.
· Assist with the training and onboarding of new financial aid staff.
· Assist the Dean of Enrollment Management with the writing, review and implementation of policies and procedures.
· Provides information to the Dean of Enrollment Management to assist with the creation of the office’s annual budget.
· Maintains a working knowledge of all policies, procedures and regulations that affect financial aid administration.
· Assist with the preparation and submittal of annual reports including: FISAP, IPEDS, Gainful Employment and state reporting.
· Assist with the research and creation of the annual Cost of Attendance budgets.
· Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
· Excellent computer skills and knowledge of all Microsoft Office software applications.
· Experience with higher education, PowerFAIDS (including NetPartner), Jenzabar and the SAMS Arkansas State processing software systems.
· Skilled in communicating clearly and effectively both orally and in writing.
· Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to changing priorities and regulations and meet deadlines.
· Able to work with individuals in stressful and sensitive situations.
· Ability to work independently on complex financial aid issues and processes and assist other staff members as needed.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
· Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in general business or related field and at least two years of Higher Education Financial Aid Office experience.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in general business or related field and at least two years of Higher Education Financial Aid Office experience. Knowledge of the PowerFAIDS financial aid management system and the Jenzabar student information system. Knowledge of Title IV Regulations and Arkansas state regulations related to financial aid. Experience with veteran services and or VA education benefits.
Physical Requirements:
Extensive computer usage. Long periods of sitting. Minimal lifting on occasion. Occasional local, state, regional and or national travel. Occasional overtime or flexible work hours.
