Technician Job Description
The Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of South Bay’s products and services. This position requires a detail-oriented, client-focused individual who can manage multiple responsibilities, communicate effectively, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Completion & Client Satisfaction: Ensure all projects are completed on time, meeting South Bay’s quality standards, and address client needs with respect, empathy, and professionalism.
- Product Knowledge & Installation: Gain a thorough understanding of South Bay’s products and installation processes.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, project managers (PMs), service managers, other technicians, and sales teams daily. Respond promptly to emails and phone calls, offering solutions when needed.
- Compliance with Procedures: Follow Manage software procedures, including real-time uploading of work summaries, time, receipts, and product data.
- On-Site Requirements: Ensure South Bay stickers are placed on doors, windows, and hardware in IT closets, and install yard signs in designated areas.
- Reliability & Attention to Detail: Be dependable, detail-oriented, and willing to go the extra mile to exceed expectations.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in the office and at client sites.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the South Bay team, contributing ideas and solutions when problems arise. Provide input to sales teams regarding opportunities, additions, or change orders.
- Client Relationship Management: Frequently call clients to confirm satisfaction before and after service calls, building and maintaining strong relationships.
- Problem Solving & Positive Attitude: Handle challenges with a positive attitude, providing solutions to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Performance Reporting: Provide timely job updates to PMs and the South Bay team when requested, and monitor/oversee project time and materials.
- Continuous Improvement: Invest in personal development outside of work hours to enhance skills and technical knowledge.
- Exceptional Service: Deliver “unreasonable hospitality” by treating every client and situation with respect, empathy, and humility.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a technician role, with a focus on installation and client-facing responsibilities.
- Experience in Security installations such as Access Control, Fire, Intrusion Systems, Video systems and network cabling.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Proficiency in project management tools and systems.
- Positive attitude, adaptability, and a commitment to teamwork.
- Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Working Conditions:
This role requires working in various environments, including office settings, client sites, and outdoor areas. Candidates must be comfortable with flexible schedules and occasionally working outside standard hours.
Salary : $50,000 - $80,000
