Program :
SBCS Corporation operates a 24 / 7 year-round confidential, emergency shelter program for victims of domestic violence and their children. Services include 24-hour emergency shelter, food, transportation, 24-hour crisis hotline, psychological support and peer counseling, referrals to community resources, and community education and outreach.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Under the direct supervision of the Program Coordinator of Facilities, the Cleaning Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining clean and orderly shelter facilities. Dependability, responsibility, efficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfully are mandatory skills.
DUTIES :
- Responsible for maintaining clean and organized shelter facilities.
- Responsibilities include dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, windows, and moving furniture.
- Routinely clean, mop, scrub, polish, and disinfect all bathrooms, kitchens, and all high touch surfaces.
- Empty trash and garbage containers in all assigned areas.
- Perform heavy cleaning duties such as cleaning floors.
- Organize custodial closets and spaces.
- Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment.
- Ability to follow established safety precautions and infection control practices when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies.
- Assist with general cleanliness and safety of facility, including cleaning-up spills.
- Assist with cleaning client units upon move out from shelter.
- Maintain detailed and thorough cleaning logs.
- Perform the day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
- Report incidents and maintenance issues as required by supervisor.
- Remain flexible and easily adapt to crisis situations.
- Attend all agency required meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned.
