Job Title: Lube Technician
Reports to: General Manager
Minimum hours per week: N/A

Job Description:
Responsible for performing automotive services and activities associated with the store in an accurate and timely manner according to company policies and procedures.
Employees Supervised: None
Key Statistics: Responsible for assisting in acquiring good Customer Service Satisfaction (CSS) Scores, Computer Based Training Percentage (CBT), and Mystery Shop Scores by properly executing job duties.
Principle Accountabilities:
Upper Bay Tech (UBT)
- Execution and reinforcement of customer service mantra – Fast, Trustworthy, and Knowledgeable….Every time, Everywhere.
- Performs upper bay automotive services according to J Team Service Standards (JTSS) vehicle team execution including:
- Guiding vehicles in safely.
- Assisting with vehicle light checks.
- Checking all vehicle fluids and filling to proper level.
- Checking tire pressure and filling to proper level.
- Inspecting air and cabin filters.
- Adding new oil to customer vehicles to proper levels.
- Demonstrates good customer service skills.
- Always wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Certified in all Computer Based Training (CBT) modules except management including Upper Bay Tech, Courtesy Tech, and Lower Bay Tech.
- Meets JTSS standards with no quality defects.
- Executes the JTSS calls and response system properly.
- Supports professional image and trust by showing respect to the customers’ vehicles by using seat covers and floor mats during service.
Lower Bay Tech (LBT)
- Execution and reinforcement of customer service mantra – Fast, Trustworthy, and Knowledgeable….Every time, Everywhere.
- Performs upper bay automotive services according to J Team Service Standards (JTSS) vehicle team execution including:
- Inspect and fill differential and/or gearboxes as applicable.
- Lubricate chassis when applicable.
- Inspect entire under carriage for leaks, damages, or otherwise unusual instances and report them to the UBT and/or Team Leader (TL).
- Properly remove drain plug, inspect for damages, and drain oil from vehicle.
- Properly remove oil filter from vehicle and replace with a brand new manufacturer specified one.
- Perform proper safety and quality inspection.
- Demonstrates good customer service skills.
- Always wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Certified in all Computer Based Training (CBT) modules except management including Upper Bay Tech, Courtesy Tech, and Lower Bay Tech.
- Meets JTSS standards with no quality defects.
- Executes the JTSS calls and response system properly.
- Supports professional image and trust by showing respect to the customers’ vehicles by using seat covers and floor mats during service.
Team Leader (TL)
- Execution and reinforcement of customer service mantra – Fast, Trustworthy, and Knowledgeable….Every time, Everywhere.
- Performs upper bay automotive services according to J Team Service Standards (JTSS) vehicle team execution including:
- Write work orders up using the Report on Conditions (ROC) form.
- Assist in vehicle light inspections.
- Complete all computer work on vehicle then send into the office for cash out.
- Must execute good floor control (assure speed of service).
- Ensure “no handles” policy in which all doors are to be opened for customers is being executed by all team members.
- Demonstrates good customer service skills.
- Always wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Certified in all Computer Based Training (CBT) modules except management including Upper Bay Tech, Courtesy Tech, and Lower Bay Tech.
- Meets JTSS standards with no quality defects.
- Executes the JTSS calls and response system properly.
- Supports professional image and trust by showing respect to the customers’ vehicles by using seat covers and floor mats during service.
Courtesy Technician (CT)
- Execution and reinforcement of customer service mantra – Fast, Trustworthy, and Knowledgeable….Every time, Everywhere.
- Performs upper bay automotive services according to J Team Service Standards (JTSS) vehicle team execution including:
- Clean exterior windows.
- Vacuum vehicle interiors.
- Assists in vehicle light inspections.
- Greet customers within 10 seconds of driving on the lot if the Customer Service Advisor is with another customer.
- Drive vehicles in the bay as well as out once services have been completed.
- Demonstrates good customer service skills.
- Always wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Certified in all Computer Based Training (CBT) modules except management including Upper Bay Tech, Courtesy Tech, and Lower Bay Tech.
- Meets JTSS standards with no quality defects.
- Executes the JTSS calls and response system properly.
- Supports professional image and trust by showing respect to the customers’ vehicles by using seat covers and floor mats during service.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to speak, read, and write English. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively with customers and employees.
- Ability to perform basic and intermediate level math calculations.
- Has completed required computer based training (CBT) modules for the CSA position, and CT position, and Product Knowledge.
- Attendance is an essential function of employment and you must be timely and ready to work your scheduled shifts.
Physical Requirements
- The Lube Technician position will require the employee to regularly service cars. Thus, while
performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand and walk.
- Use of hands, and fingers to feel, reach with hands and arms.
- Flexibility to work in awkward positions.
- Able to climb stairs.
- Able to lift objects up to 25 pounds and transfer from one height to another.
- Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
- Able to communicate clearly.
Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) always, setting an example for others to follow.
- Has completed CBT modules for HSSE1, HSSE2, and Safety.
