We are a tank cleaning and technical flushing company that supports U.S. Navy ships by ensuring their systems are clean, efficient, and mission-ready. With our headquarters in San Diego, CA, we provide technical expertise and logistical support to our Norfolk, VA operations, where we are expanding our presence. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to oversee our Norfolk operations, drive efficiency, and ensure seamless project execution.

Position Overview:

The Operations Manager is responsible for leading all Norfolk-based operations, overseeing shipboard tank cleaning and technical flushing projects on U.S. Navy vessels. This role requires strong leadership, shipyard experience, and the ability to manage personnel, projects, and resources effectively. You will work closely with shipyard officials, Navy representatives, and our headquarters team to ensure all work meets the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership & Project Management

✔ Manage all daily operations, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and in compliance with Navy and shipyard regulations.
✔ Plan, schedule, and oversee tank cleaning and technical flushing activities on U.S. Navy ships.
✔ Maintain strong coordination with our San Diego headquarters, ensuring seamless communication and alignment with company-wide goals.
✔ Monitor and manage project budgets, equipment needs, and workforce allocation to maximize efficiency.

Team Management & Workforce Development

✔ Supervise, mentor, and lead a team of field supervisors, technicians, and subcontractors.
✔ Ensure all employees are trained in proper procedures, safety protocols, and operational best practices.
✔ Foster a strong safety culture and enforce adherence to OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and shipyard safety requirements.

Client & Stakeholder Coordination

✔ Serve as the primary point of contact for shipyard officials, Navy personnel, and government representatives.
✔ Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure smooth project execution and long-term partnerships.
✔ Collaborate with headquarters to streamline operations, resolve challenges, and implement process improvements.

Compliance, Safety & Continuous Improvement

✔ Ensure all work is conducted in strict compliance with OSHA, NAVSEA Standard Items, and shipyard environmental regulations.
✔ Conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections to maintain a zero-incident workplace.
✔ Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational enhancements.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

✅ Industry Experience:

• 5 years of experience in shipyard operations, Navy ship repair, industrial cleaning, or related maritime/defense industries.

• Direct experience with tank cleaning, system flushing, or shipboard maintenance is highly preferred.

✅ Leadership & Management:

• Proven experience managing teams in a shipyard or industrial setting.

• Strong ability to motivate, train, and lead field crews in a dynamic environment.

✅ Technical & Compliance Knowledge:

• Familiarity with NAVSEA Standard Items, OSHA safety regulations, and shipyard operational requirements.

• Understanding of hazardous materials handling, confined space entry, and industrial cleaning procedures.

✅ Operational & Project Management Skills:

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring quality, safety, and timeliness.

• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

✅ Communication & Coordination:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with shipyard officials, Navy personnel, and internal teams.

• Ability to collaborate with our San Diego headquarters for strategic planning, logistics, and operational alignment.

Salary : $60,000 - $130,000
