Job Description
The manufacturing engineer position develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards; recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls; coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products.
Requirements
- Good understanding of various capabilities of Subtractive Manufacturing which includes but not limited to Milling, Turning, chemical and electrical.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and assembly.
- Familiar with manufacturing equipment.
- Proficient in print reading. Must have good knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) for English and Metric system.
- Knowledgeable to various inspection techniques and methods
- Familiar in relevant software like Solidworks, MS Office
- Project management skills
- Lean Manufacturing experience and knowledge. Able to identify and eliminate waste consistent with Lean principles.
- Committed to health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Degree in Engineering; post-graduate degree is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for preparing and supporting the transition of new products and revision changes into manufacturing and assembly operations (NPI Lead)
- Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Prepare BOM and any manufacturing documentation including work instructions, procedures, material records, SPS, Red Line prints, create dwgs from solid models etc.
- Review, resolve and escalate daily engineering, production and quality issues.
- Support manufacturing lines by providing engineering and technical expertise to daily production activity including machining, assembly, production quality and documentation.
- Provide operator training and process improvement.
- Be able to troubleshoot wide array of issues concerning Subtractive Machining
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education / Experience
- 10 years manufacturing engineering experience with direct involvement in the development and production of mechanical components
- Familiarity / expertise in Manual Machining which includes but not limited to engine lathe, knee mill.
- Skillful in performing tasks that require high dexterity.
- A college degree or equivalent is a plus.
Schedule:
- 8 hour day shift
- Monday to Friday
