The Intake Specialist will be responsible for managing incoming patient inquiries, maintaining accurate health information, and facilitating a smooth intake process. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and a solid understanding of dental terminology and medical records.
Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and manage phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Collect and verify patient information, ensuring accuracy in documentation.
- Review medical records and health information management to prepare for patient appointments.
- Utilize Dentrix software for patient data entry and management.
- Provide excellent patient service by addressing inquiries and guiding patients through the intake process.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with documentation review to ensure completeness and accuracy of patient files.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate seamless communication regarding patient care.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a healthcare or dental setting.
- Familiarity with health information management practices and medical records.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology is preferred.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Proficient typing skills with attention to detail for accurate data entry.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience using Dentrix or similar practice management software is a plus.
