The Opportunity
South Bow is seeking a Business Development Analyst / Representative to join our regulated liquids Business Development team. Reporting to the Manager of Business Development (BD), you will play a critical role in all aspects of identifying, evaluating and advancing new business development opportunities, assisting with current development initiatives and preparing material for marketing and management review. Success in this role requires a focus on efficient financial modelling and the ability to identify and coordinate internal and external resources.
What You Will Do
- Perform economic evaluation and rigorous financial modeling / analysis to identify value creation opportunities that align with the company's strategic objectives
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets, strategic partnerships and investment opportunities
- Analyze industry trends and market data to evaluate potential deals and assess their strategic potential fit with the company's growth objectives
- Build financial models and perform valuation analysis to assess the financial viability and potential return on investment of business development opportunities
- Assist in the due diligence process by gathering and analyzing relevant information, conducting risk assessments, and preparing reports for senior management
- Assist with forecasting and budgets
- Collaborate with cross functional teams, including finance, legal, asset management, and operations to support the execution of business development initiatives
- Prepare presentations, reports, and business cases to communicate findings, recommendations and financial analysis to senior management and key stakeholders
- Monitor and track industry trends, competitor activities and market dynamics to identify potential opportunities and risks
- Support the development and execution of the company's strategic growth plan by providing insights and recommendations based on market research and financial analysis
- Support project and initiatives by assessing, verifying strategic fit, commercial drivers and financial returns
- Develop and execute strategies taking into consideration issues such as the customers' needs, the physical capabilities of the pipeline and storage assets, federal and state regulatory environments as well as broad economic trends
- Understand and nurture long-term relationships with customers and partners built on trust and integrity and leveraging that into new business
- Assist in the negotiation and structuring of deals, including drafting term sheets, conducting financial analysis and participating in due diligence activities
- Stay updated on industry news, regulations and emerging trends to identify potential opportunities or threats to the company's growth strategy
