Salary Grade 10: $17.28 per hour ($47,747 annual)
JOB SUMMARY:
As a critical member of our Fire Department these positions play an important role in providing firefighting and emergency medical services to our community and citizens. The City of South Burlington takes pride in training and developing the highest quality Firefighters/Emergency Medical Technicians. Our community and citizens deserve the best. As a Firefighter/EMT you will perform fire suppression, emergency medical services, hazardous materials mitigation, special operations / technical rescue and fire prevention.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Required certifications:
- Vermont Operator's License.
- Vermont or Pro Board-Certified Firefighter I
- Vermont Emergency Medical Technician – Basic certification
- Vermont Hazardous Material - Decontamination certification
- CPAT certificate must be acquired within 12 months from date of hire
