Description
The Home Care Sitter cares for residents who participate in the Home Care program, providing companionship and helping them with basic life tasks such as walking and eating in accordance with current federal and state standards, guidelines and regulations, our established policies & procedures and, as directed by trained nurses. Works collaboratively to support the Mission and Values of SCBMA.
Requirements
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Observe and monitor the health condition of residents under the supervision of trained nursing staff, maintaining constant visual observation of them, unless instructed otherwise by the nurse.
- Listen to resident's concerns and inform the Director of Home Care of changes such as food intake, elimination, skin condition, behaviors and complaints, as directed
- Maintain accurate and legible records, as directed
- Respond and / or seek assistance to emergencies
- Follow Care Services Plan with minimal supervision
- Maintain the resident's environment providing comfort and safety and ensuring the resident is satisfied with the level of care they are receiving.
- Assure the environment is safe, clean and meets the regulations set by SCBMA
- Assist with ADL's - bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
- Assist with light housekeeping
- Assist with meal service
- Assist with laundry
- Assist with Pet Care, if needed
- Assist with exercise and activities
- Assist with errands, shopping, transportation to appointments
- Assist with medication reminders
- Ensure compliance with all regulations from DHEC, Fire and Safety, OSHA, Labor Laws, etc. and adhere to HIPAA confidentiality standards and Resident's Rights.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of practice for a Sitter
