About Coastal Regional Center
Coastal Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Summerville, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Under the supervision of the Building Grounds Supervisor; the incumbent performs duties assisting in the care and upkeep of the landscaped areas of campus grounds and performs building maintenance and repair in multi-skilled work environment.
1. Mow grass weekly during peak season, pick up trash along the fence surrounding the campus, keep grounds free of all limbs and debris, trim all bushes and hedges as needed, and clean flower beds.
2. Maintain equipment by doing daily preventive maintenance and keep equipment free of debris by washing and blowing down equipment daily.
3. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Experience in groundskeeping and maintenance work that is directly related to the area of employment.
Must be able to perform the physical requirements: balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance, grasping, hearing, repetitive motions, driving (including nights), counting, and working over as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of how to properly carry out custodial, housekeeping or pest control tasks. Knowledge of custodial, housekeeping or pest control standards and requirements. Knowledge of safety practices relevant to the area of employment. Knowledge of personnel practices in state government. Skill in the use of cleaning tools and equipment. Ability to keep accurate written records. Ability to plan, direct and review the work of subordinates. Ability to train new employees in the proper performance of their duties.
