Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and work experience in postal, courier, or delivery operations.
SCDC Minimum Requirements
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

Under minimal supervision,
- Coordinates institutional postal operation for the inmate population.
- Performs standard routine operational procedures to conform with U.S. postal regulations and SCDC policies, assists in maintaining accountability for all funds concerning postal operations and money instruments of inmates.
- Act as liaison officer between U.S. postal officials and the institutional personnel, in addition to handling the official postal business of the institution.
- Receives, sort and distributes incoming mail.
- Processes inmates outgoing mail.
- Operates CRT in the sales of postage and E.H. Cooper requests.
- This position is responsible for mailroom requisitions, daily and monthly reports, correspondence regarding mailroom activities and answering requests to staff from inmates with mail concerns.
- Must become a notary within three (3) months of accepting position.

- One (1) year experience in postal operations.
- Any equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
- An Associate's degree may be substituted for the required program experience.
