Minimum And Additional Requirements
State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:
An associate degree and experience in accounting, auditing, finance, insurance, or tax preparation and/or analysis. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for the work experience.
SCDC Minimum Requirements
(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources)
Prefer minimum of 2 years auditing experience.

- Under direct supervision, audit SCDC divisions, institutions, and programs at appropriate intervals not to exceed 3 years to determine the adequacy and effectiveness of internal accounting and operational controls to include the extent to which assets are accounted for and safeguarded as well as the reliability of information and the means used to identify, measure, classify, and report such information.
- Examine financial records and interview employees to ensure recording of transactions and determine compliance with laws and regulations.
- Prepare written draft audit reports for review/approval of audit manager and assist audit manager with audit closeout, i.e. preparing audit findings, providing recommendations, and obtaining corrective actions from management.
- Assist with development of audit programs for new areas requiring audits.
- Resume preferred, but not required.

- Must have knowledge of accounting, auditing principles and written verification of accounting and financial data.
