Job Responsibilities
Serves on the Assertive Community Treatment) team providing evidenced based services in an intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower level of care options.
Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center / OAMHC Holly Hill Clinic is an approved site of the National Health Service Corps, (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000 to employees of NHSC-approved sites. You must be a US citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired, and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans. There is a two year service commitment required as well. Confirmation of qualifying for this loan repayment program is the responsibility of every applicant - we cannot guarantee your qualification.

Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center is part of the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. Orangeburg Area Mental Health Center/OAMHC provides mental health services to individuals in Orangeburg, Calhoun, Bamberg and Holly Hill.
State Requirements: A Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences or a related field. Internal requirements: Must be licensed as a Licensed Addiction Counselor in SC or Master Addiction Counselor.
DMH Requirements: A Masters’ degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences or a related field. Internal requirements: Must be licensed as a Licensed Addiction Counselor in SC or Master Addiction Counselor.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of normal and abnormal behavior adjustment techniques. Knowledge of clinical
practices and interviewing techniques. Knowledge of legal principals and practices. Knowledge of investigative techniques, principles and practices. Knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling services. Knowledge of federal, state and local laws or regulations pertaining to a social service program. Ability to exercise discretion in interpreting and applying established objectives. Ability to effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.

- Conducts comprehensive substance use assessments and assesses and tracks beneficiary's stages of change readiness and stages of treatment.
- Ensures patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the team's treatment approaches are consistent with beneficiary's stages of change readiness.
- Facilitates access to 12 step groups and other community groups.
- Provides direct services to patients using cognitive behavioral approaches and relapse prevention and uses outreach and motivational interviewing techniques in earlier stages of change readiness.
- Facilitates the person-centered planning process for beneficiaries assigned to them.
- Participates in clinical supervision, treatment team meetings, and pursues professional development. Serves as a consultant and educator to ACT team members on the topic of integrated dual disorder treatment.
- Completes documentation according to QA/SCDMH standards, Complies with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan, and Ensures timely completion of prior authorizations.
- Completes all annual required trainings to include Safety, MAPS, Cultural Affairs, and clinical trainings. Demonstrates adherence to CARF standards, and SCDMH and Center policies and Procedures.
- Performs other duties as needed
