Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position services Horry, Georgetown and Williamsburg Counties and may work from one of three different WCMH Clinical Offices in Conway, Georgetown and Kingstree as well as being out and about in these communities.
This position MAY be eligible for SCDMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.

Psychopathology
Psychopathology Diagnostic
Ethics related to medical profession
Clinical Assessment - Practice with Family Therapy (DSM) or any related assessment graduate course
Evidence of one-year clinical experience providing direct patient care is required and this can include internship, practicum, and previous work experience where one has worked directly with patients.
Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:
To provide mobile crisis intervention services to the populations of Horry, Georgetown and Willamsburg counties. Working with people in crisis, in a clinical setting or in the community, using least restrictive means as possible.
Staff will intervene for the safety of the patient and/or others when necessary and assist with hospitalization.
Primary function of this program is to divert future hospitalizations due to mental health crisis, to educate the family of the patients' needs and to bring knowledge to the community about the Mobile Crisis Program.
Provide mental health services requiring specialized diagnostic and treatment intervention skills to include screening, assessment, crisis intervention, community crisis intervention, completion of judicial forms for Probate Court with individuals and other approved services.
Formulate levels of care, recommendations and disposition.
Educate patients on community resources and make arrangements for immediate disposition regarding transfers and referrals.
Serve as a provider of crisis intervention by administering brief individual and/or family intervention to address crisis and identify triggers for crisis behavior to include development of crisis safety plan, and involuntary commitments/hospitalization if needed.
Position requires taking some on call shifts as part of the Mobile Crisis team and applicant must be flexible in their schedule.
Complete and submit clinical services notes within 24 hours period in accordance with Loval Collaborative Documentation Standards.
Maintains documentation of charts and other records in accordance with State, Federal, Local, SCDMH, WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards.
Position acts as a contact for referral sources by providing information about the services offered at WCMH including criteria for admission and types of treatment programs available.
Provides a variety of coordination and consultation services with local community agencies and organization, law enforcement, Probate Court, and other human service providers, along with DMH staff to assist patients in maximizing recovery efforts.
Furnish services and education to patient and patient's family as needed.
Employee is self-directed and motivated, functioning independently while exercising good clinical judgement.
Being a part of the Mobile Crisis team means a response for mobile calls is up to one hour, so one must reside in the catchment area and this includes Horry, Georgetown or Williamsburg Counties.
Position does require walking, standing, sitting, bending and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Other duties are assigned by supervisor and Clinical Director.

Master’s degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences. State of South Carolina Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Master of Social Worker is preferred.
