Job Responsibilities
With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health/Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center (AOPMHC), 1 Linwa Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.
Under limited supervision, serves as the Director of Clinical Services for the AOP Mental Health Center for Mental Health Services, serving a three (3) County area. Directs clinical services in the various locations and oversees clinic and community-based services. Represents the Center in the absence of the Executive Director and functions as the designee of the Executive Director. Provides oversight to special projects related to clinical functions, as designated.
Position responsibilities include but not limited to the following -
State Requirement: A bachelor's degree and relevant program management experience.
Agency & Center Preferred Requirements
A master's degree in guidance, counseling or the social sciences and five (5) years related postmaster degree experience.
Additional Center Preferred: SC Licensure as Professional Counselor.

Preferred Qualifications
Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Position responsibilities include but not limited to the following -
- Directs and manages AOP's clinic services implementation, enhancement, and day-to-day operations through the direct supervision of the Clinic Directors, Community Services Manager and Children Adolescent Family Director.
- Provides oversight to the Supervisors to ensure clinical staff in the area of Compliance and that clinical staff are trained on Compliance. Participates in the Center's Compliance Committee, Quality Assurance Team, Executive Staff, Executive Management Team, and Quality Improvement Team. Assists Center's Executive Director through program design and implementation, consultation and carrying out special projects as assigned. Participates in the decision-making process of the Center and is accountable for end results. Develops patient advisory board or mechanism for patient feedback into current and new programs and development.
- Ensures that all staff have knowledge of and are measured against productivity expectations for clinical service. Provides follow-up with managers to ensure plans are developed for those staff, clinics and programs that are not achieving Patient Care Hour (PCH) standard.
- Ensures a system is in place to meet established access requirements for patients. Ensures caseload guidelines for adults (80), children (60), and Medication Management Only (200) are met. Ensures patient functionality is measured by the Daily Living Assessment (DLA)-20. Ensures Center-wide use of Collaborative Documentation. Ensures staff documentation is done per South Carolina Department of Mental Health & Center guidelines. Reviews monthly Report Cards, PCH Reports and other relevant data to guide clinical services and develop plans for all programs to be meeting targeted goals.
- Serves as Justice Involved Program Liaison. Hosts the Quarterly Probate Judges meeting with three county judges and multiple community partners. Participates in multiple community agency monthly meetings and partnerships. Participates in multiple coordination efforts with Department of Justice programs with law enforcement in multiple counties.
- Works with Leadership to ensure systems and procedures are in place to meet Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) survey standards for a successful CARF survey and ensures systems are put in place to meet required protocols to obtain ongoing successful CARF recertifications.
- Acts as Disaster Preparedness Coordinator for AOPMHC.
- Performs other additional duties as assigned.
