Responsibilities Of The Compliance Audit Supervisor
- Serves as supervisor to a regional team of field agents that conduct various types of compliance reviews and audits to include, but not limited to, commercial and non-commercial driver training schools, third party testers, automobile dealerships, DMV branch offices, and other entities.
- Oversees the team's daily activities. Coordinates, monitors, and reviews the work of subordinate employees. Ensures work is complete, accurate, and timely.
- Provides training and guidance to employees and makes recommendations to management to improve processes.
- Works closely with peers to ensure coverage of all areas under the business unit's purview.
- Ensures customers, colleagues, and stakeholders receive accurate and timely assistance from assigned auditors.
- Serves as the commercial/classified license subject matter expert for the Audit and Compliance Unit.
- Plans, coordinates, monitors, and conducts Skills Performance Evaluations (SPEs), special audits on third party tester safety officers, and random recalls of drivers licensed through third party testers.
- Ensures proper reporting of results. Maintains CDL Compliance complaint database.
- Conducts and/or assists with third party tester training courses and internal DMV Examiner training courses. Monitors and oversees subordinate employees who serve as CDL instructors.
- Audits and inspects truck driver training schools and safety officers in the third-party tester program.
- Coordinates and monitors periodic review of vehicle test routes for third party testers and recommends any necessary revisions.
- Maintains professional growth and development.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by manager.
Minimum Requirement
- A high school diploma and relevant work experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for the required work experience.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Software, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Considerable knowledge of CDL licensing methods and principles, federal and state laws and regulations relating to commercial licenses, and DMV policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Requires the ability to plan, coordinate, implement, monitor, and evaluate effectiveness of procedures to include all employees daily work activities.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, customers, stakeholders, and the public.
- Coordinates with, and receives guidance from the unit manager, but generally works independently and has some latitude for independent decision making.
- Serves as the commercial driver's license subject matter expert for the Audit and Compliance Unit.
- The assigned work location is Blythewood, will supervise a team primarily in the upstate, and will also work throughout the state.
- Supervises a multifunctional audit team.
- This position is subject to overnight travel.
- Normal hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM but may require working outside the normal work hours and on weekends.
