In the area of Occupational Safety and Health, the responsibilities includes:
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A high school diploma; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
Applicants must be accepted into or currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year college or university program in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, Public Health, Environmental Science, and Industrial Hygiene.

In the area of Occupational Safety and Health, the responsibilities includes:
- Assists with maintaining and updating the SCDOT employee safety manual, policies, forms and other resources made available electronically and are accessible in accordance with Federal regulations. Researches and provides recommendations to policies, processes, Safety & Health webpage, SCDOT Safety Manual and other resources statewide.
- Assists with assessments of OSHA and FMCSA required employee training.
- Assists Fleet Safety Manager with screening of driver records of applicants to determine if they meet SCDOT's and State Fleet's policy to operate SCDOT vehicles. Determines if additional training is needed for internal applicants.
- Assists with injury investigation, reporting and follow up as needed.
- In addition, assists management with other duties including administrative as assigned.
