Job Responsibilities
Assists the Resident Construction Engineers in tracking and submittal of utility agreements, relocation sketches, and relocation package submittals for all utilities within SCDOT construction project limits, ensuring that Utility Certification is issued in a timely manner for construction projects. Sets up kickoff meetings upon assignment of new construction projects. Coordinates with the Resident Construction Engineers and utility companies to meet on site and identify potential conflicts. Represents District 3 in utility matters as required, including organization and hosting of any UCC (Universal Commercial Code) Meetings in the district. Monitors progress on relocation work during all phases of project construction. Receives and reviews invoices for submittal to the Utility Engineer in Columbia. Works w ith the Resident Construction Engineers to review and process railroad invoices to the Railroad Engineer. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum And Additional Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Construction Science and Management and two (2) years of engineering or construction management work experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.
The physical demands for the essential functions involves sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time. This position may require occasional travel. May require bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, climbing, balancing, and kneeling. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May be required to work outside normal business hours or respond to emergency situations.
