Facility: East Cooper Medical Center Location: Mount Pleasant, SC Department: Women's Services Patient EducationPosition Type: Contract/SRT Work Schedule: Four 8-hour days a week for 12 weeks
Responsibilities: • Under the direction of the Department Director, provides direct assistance and patient care to the breastfeeding mother and infant. • Works in collaboration with the nursing and support staff to assure that the mother and infant receive current and evidenced based education and hands on support. • Provides on-going education to nursing staff so that care can be consistent throughout the mother and infant’s stay. • Serves as the program expert in assuring all policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements are met.
Requirements: • Current RN license with the South Carolina State Board of Nursing. • Advanced certification as an IBCLC • BLS certification required. • Previous hospital experience preferred in area specialty.
